John Barrowman and The Krankies make a triumphant return to the SECC pantomime!

Following two years of hugely-successful and record-breaking Christmas shows at the Clyde Auditorium, the producers of the SECC’s pantomime, Qdos Entertainment have announced that John Barrowman and The Krankies will return to the venue this Christmas!

John Barrowman and The Krankies have previously starred in Aladdin and Robinson Crusoe & the Caribbean Pirates and this year will lead the cast in Jack and the Beanstalk which is a change to the advertised title of Robin Hood. John will play the leading role of Jack while The Krankies will play Farmer & Jimmy Trot!

The use of 3D special effects in the previous Qdos Entertainment pantomimes at the SECC have been so popular with audiences that Jack and the Beanstalk will feature brand-new and outstanding surprises including a fantastic 3D enchanted forest and journey through the giant’s castle!

“We are thrilled that John, Ian and Janette are returning to Glasgow, where they have received huge audience acclaim, for their third SECC pantomime,” says Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos Entertainment’s pantomime division. “Over the past few years, together with our colleagues at the SECC, we have staged Glasgow’s biggest and most spectacular pantomime and I can promise that Jack and the Beanstalk will be another giant and unmissable show!”

Allan Snedden, Head of Concert & Events at the SECC said:

“We are delighted that we will be welcoming John and the Krankies back to the SECC once again. They are a winning combination and the hilarious banter between the trio is unbeatable. We look forward to bringing our audiences another fantastic production and working with Qdos Entertainment and the cast again.”

Quotes below from Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates 2011:
"What thrilled most, however, was the genuine rapport between Barrowman and the Krankies, all three now truly genius-conspirators in the panto-art of good rude vulgarity (without gratuitous smut) and arch silliness, even at their own expense. Barrowman simply lights up the stage with his full-on energy, the Krankies leave us helpless with laughter at their fooling." Mary Brennan, The Herald, 22/12/2011

"A naughty, spectacular delight from start to finish, with a powerful local twist, and unfailingly high production standards." Joyce McMillan, The Scotsman22/12/2011

"Qdos Entertainment have produced a theatrically exciting and at times visually enrapturing night which is bound to capture kids from one to ninety two." Scott Purvis, WhatsOnStage.com, 21/12/2011
